The International Committee for Relief and Development (CIAUD), an International Non-Governmental Organization registered under Canadian law and headquartered at 200 Rue Montcalm, 1st Floor, Suite 101, J8Y 3B5, Gatineau, Québec, Canada, provides humanitarian assistance in crisis situations and supports community development in developing countries to help populations achieve self-reliance.

CIAUD’s interventions focus on emergency response, climate change, protection and environmental management, sustainable forest management, refugee and IDP protection, child and women’s rights, disaster response, education, health, nutrition, food security, economic development, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and the rehabilitation of basic infrastructure.

As part of its Protection Monitoring and Route-Based Approach Programme in Ghana, funded by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR/MCO-CIV), CIAUD is recruiting two (2) Cleaners.

General Context

To ensure the proper functioning of its offices in Accra and in the northern operational zones, CIAUD is recruiting two Cleaners responsible for maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and a safe working environment in line with organizational standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily cleaning of offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, corridors, and common areas.
  • Maintain stock of hygiene products (soap, paper, disinfectants, etc.) and report supply needs.
  • Take care of office equipment and furniture (bins, curtains, air conditioners, etc.).
  • Ensure office opening and closing in accordance with established procedures.
  • Respect hygiene, safety, and confidentiality standards in all office spaces.
  • Report any breakdowns, damages, or irregularities to the supervisor or logistics staff.
  • Provide occasional logistical support during events or meetings (cleaning, setup, etc.).

Note: The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive. Tasks may be adjusted as required in consultation with the supervisor. The job description and performance will be reviewed regularly in line with operational needs.

Candidate Profile

·       Basic literacy (minimum ability to read and write).

·       Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an organization or institution.

·       Good knowledge of cleaning products and techniques.

·       Punctuality, discipline, discretion, and organizational skills.

·       Good physical condition and flexibility to work varied schedules.

·      Ability to work in a team and follow hierarchical instructions.
